On January 15, dozens of passengers reportedly jumped from a boat which was shuttling them to a casino ship reportedly caught fire.
What happened?
The passengers were forced to jump from the cargo vessel after the boat which they were travelling reportedly caught fire. The boat was proceeding to Saudi Arabia’s Ritz Carlton to reopen after being used as luxury prison.
The Port Richey police chief Gerard DeCanio said, “The boat was close to the shore when it was set on fire and started heading back to the shore after a fire broke out. However, people were forced to escape as the flames started to grow. Fifteen people complaining of chest pain, smoke inhalation and other minor injuries were taken to the hospital to be checked, no injuries were life-threatening”.
Investigation launched:
An investigation has been reportedly launched to look into the incident to the determine the source of fire. The fire sent a huge plumes of dark black smoke wafting over sunny skies on an unusually chilly winter day in the Tampa Bay region.
