Chinese freighter was pushed aground in the downtown of Kholmsk port, Sakhalin, Russia Far East, in the afternoon Dec 6, shortly after she heaved anchor and tried to sail further out to sea to wait out almost incessant storms, raging in the region in fall-winter season.
She arrived at Kholmsk anchorage on Dec 4 from Japan. 12 crew, all of Chinese nationality, remain on board, so far. No leak spotted or reported.
