What happened?
Ferry ran aground on a coast of islet Es Malvins, some 1.3 nm south of Ibiza, Balearic islands, at around 2200 LT Aug 28, while en route from Ibiza to Formentera island, with 35 passengers and 12 crew on board.
Evacuation
By 0130 LT Aug 29 all passengers were evacuated.
Damages reported
The ship remained aground and as of 1300 UTC Aug 2, was still aground. Hull was reportedly, breached, water ingress is taking place, Maritime Rescue Baleari official said the ship may sink.
No danger of pollution, because there are no vehicles on board.
