[Watch] Life Aboard Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel?

3289

An officer on board an emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) has given an insight into what life is like living on the North Sea.

The video was shot by chief officer Graeme Hately on the Grampian Protector over the course of a month.

It shows the crew engaging in various safety drills, including a practice winching transfer with a HM Coastguard helicopter.

Graeme has served aboard the ERRV Grampian Protector, owned by Aberdeen-based North Star Shipping, for the past 11 years. The ship is on permanent standby to support Marathon’s East Brae platform, which can be seen in the video.

Graeme, who lives in Nottinghamshire, records a video blog for the crew and is always on the look out for unusual happenings.
