According to a recent Maersk twitter post, Maersk is setting up a dedicated team to accelerate decarbonization efforts.
Team for decarbonization efforts
Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller Maersk announced it is setting up a dedicated team to accelerate decarbonization efforts, both of its own and of its supply chain customers.
Morten Bo Christiansen has been appointed as head of the decarbonization team of the company.
We see a lot of momentum building on the decarbonization agenda, both in general and also in logistics from our customers. We are seeing that this is becoming a real pain point for them. Some of our customers are really feeling the pressure from their customers to decarbonize their supply chains,
…said Mr. Christiansen, announcing the initiative.
Definitely doable
“Since we launched our vision in 2018, we have learned quite a lot. We have learned that back then it was a bit of a moonshot, it was a bold statement and the intention was to create a lot of focus and attention and work and it certainly did. I think that what we have learned is that this is no longer a moonshot. Actually, this is definitely doable.”
We are setting up a dedicated team to accelerate our #decarbonisation efforts. In 2018, A.P. Moller-Maersk launched the ambition of having #netzero CO2 emissions from operations by 2050. It is a challenging target to reach but clearly possible. #Alltheway #Maersk #ClimateAction pic.twitter.com/L20B7W1DOJ
