[Watch] Tanker on Fire After Collision, 14 Go Missing

An oil tanker collided with a sand barge near the estuary of Yangtze River off Shanghai on Aug 20, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

Tanker LONG QING 1 with around 3,000 tons of fuel on board collided with a sand barge in Yangtze Estuary waters in the morning Aug 20. 

Triggered fire

Collision impact resulted in fire on board of the tanker, while the barge sank. 

Rescue operations

Rescue team was sent to the site to rescue the 17 crew from the two vessels. So far three have been rescued and 14 still remain missing, while search and rescue operations are ongoing.
