Uber Rich
Just landed in Killybegs is the world’s largest private residence ship!
Only 165 “uber-rich” luxury homes make up “The World,” which moored in the southwest Donegal harbour earlier this morning.
It will spend the night there while its affluent residents tour the neighbourhood.
A rooftop suite on the ship was listed for sale in 2020 for a cool $20 million!
It has been called the largest privately owned luxury residential cruise ship at sea and one of the strongest neighbourhoods on earth.
Most of the owners are required to submit background checks and have assets worth at least $10 million USD.

According to their family and work commitments as well as the journey’s itinerary, they spend a total of three to six months onboard, dividing their time between the condo cruiser and their other homes on land.
Some, however, stay for the majority of the year and take advantage of the ship’s six restaurants, six bars, and lounges, fitness centre, swimming pools, spa, full-size tennis court, putting greens, and golf simulator, as well as its deli, pharmacy, floral shop, and chapel.
Each apartment has a private balcony, and the three-bed version (below) contains a kitchen and en-suite baths.
The 165-apartment, Norwegian-built yacht, which circumnavigates the globe every two to three years with an average occupancy of between 150 and 200 passengers and 280 crew members, was launched in 2002.
The ship’s website advertises that “a multinational community of residents and guests spend substantial time experiencing the most exotic and well-travelled areas, and upon their return, they enjoy a lifestyle that is unmatched anywhere on Earth.”
