The above video shows how the UK-flagged tanker Galway Fisher maneuvers the Port of Galway in Galway city, Ireland.
The Port, currently, can facilitate the vessels of 6000 DWT or less. Therefore, a multi-million Euro redevelopment plan is being proposed to widen and deepen the channel. The plan would provide a new quay along with the berthing facilities for the General cargoes, oil tankers, passenger vessels, fishing vessels and container vessels. The redevelopment plan includes a marina, Ro/Ro facilities, berth for naval and research vessels and construction of breakwaters as well.
