The American P&I Club released a guide of key regulations that shipowners should be aware of when trading to and from the United States and United States Territories. The guidance concerns safety, maritime security, marine environmental protection and liability.
In particular, American Club notes that the global shipping industry is confronted with a daunting array of regulations and no regime is more challenging than that of the United States where international, national and individual state rules combine to create an often perplexing landscape of compliance.
