Wison New Energies’ 268-Meter FLNG Facility Receives ABS Approval in Principle

Wison New Energies has received approval in principle (AIP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for the design of a 268-meter floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility. This FLNG unit is designed for both offshore and at-shore operations, with an expected production capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). ABS completed a comprehensive design review, ensuring the unit meets class and statutory requirements.

A Scalable and Efficient LNG Production Solution

ABS Senior Vice President of Global Offshore, Miguel Hernandez, emphasized the importance of this innovative design in supporting the production of LNG, a key component of the alternative fuel mix. He highlighted the unit’s standardized design and scalability, which enables efficient and quick LNG production. ABS’s engineering services were pivotal in supporting Wison’s efforts.
