Woman Claims She was Sexually Assaulted in Virtual Reality Game

Virtual Reality games claim to make everything more real and lifelike, but does that include “sexual assault?”

Apparently so, at least for Jordan Belamire, who says she was playing a VR game with her husband and brother-in-law watching when all of a sudden– another online gamer virtually assaulted her!

Belamire states, “Last week I was groped in virtual reality; ‘did you know that could happen?’ I didn’t, but now I’m all the wiser.”

The 30-year-old says a male user by the name of BigBro442 approached her avatar and began “rubbing” against her chest.

She claims when she yelled “Stop” online, the virtual attacker started chasing her around and became even more intense.

She says the male avatar then made grabbing and pinching motions at her avatar and even shoved his hand towards her virtual crotch.

But after sharing her story online, she’s received a backlash of bad comments including one saying, calling virtual attacks real is “insulting to real victims of sexual assault.”

Others have said she’s just whining to whine.

The thing is, Belamire says she’s been sexually assaulted twice in real life, so she knows what it feels like and she says this virtual experience felt just as real!

Guess the reality is in the mind of the beholder, and the joystick holder.  But virtual or not, men need to learn when a woman says stop, it really does mean…..game over!
