A 59-year old woman working at Port Everglade reportedly fell while climbing the ladder of a docked cargo ship.

The woman told the rescuers that a rung on the ladder broke causing the accident.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said, “She fell about ten feet onto one of the highest points of the superstructure, above the bridge”.

Doubting a head injury, the technical rescue team strapped the woman to an immobilization board and lowered her to the dock.  She was then taken to Broward Health Medical Centre for further treatment.
