Women Are More Vulnerable To Cardiovascular Diseases Than Men

A study looked at 8,500 men and women. A third of them had a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases, making them eligible for statins. But men were 20% more likely to be prescribed the drugs. Women were 27% more likely to be advised to lose weight or reduce their salt intake.

Women could be missing out on key preventative medication for several cardiovascular diseases, the study shows. Other research has shown that women tend to have more subtle cardiac symptoms than men. Watch to know more.
