The ship was launched by TransOceanic Wind Transport (TOWT), a European company that provides sustainable shipping solutions using wind propulsion.

Features

The ship has a length of 81 meters and a draft of 64 meters. The ship is designed to carry 1100 tons of cargo and has a cruising speed of around 10 knots. The ship also utilizes an autonomous routing system that is powered by AI.

The environmental impact of the ANEMOS is drastically lower than that of traditional vessels, as would be expected of a ship that is propelled by sails. The ship emits less than 1 gram of CO2 per ton of cargo per kilometer, compared to the 9.5 grams of comparable traditional vessels.
