Maiden Voyage For World’s Largest Car Carrier

Hoegh Target, the Norway registered 20,766 DWT  car carrier, is currently the world’s largest in terms of size and tonnage.  She made her maiden voyage to Rotterdam,  Netherlands on 21st August 2015.  KOTUG’s SD Shark performed a firefighting show after which the two Rotortugs – The RT Evolution and RT Adrian tugged the vessel into her berthing spot. KOTUG is a leading towage operator to ports and terminals worldwide.  

Hoegh Target is the first post-Panamax vessel to be added to Norwegian shipowner Höegh Autoliner’s fleet of 52 vessels. On 2nd June 2015, the vessel got delivered and is on her maiden voyage via East Asia and Europe.

This 2015 built carrier has a cargo capacity of 8500 ceu and a maximum ramp capacity of 375 mt.
