Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation has taken a significant step in its fleet optimization strategy by approving the order of seven advanced 15,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel containerships. The decision was made during the company’s 404th Board Meeting, and the new vessels will be built by South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. Upon finalizing contractual procedures, the ships are slated for delivery between 2028 and 2029. These newbuildings will serve as replacements for aging tonnage, supporting Yang Ming’s strategic goals for sustainable growth and fleet modernization, according to American Journal of Transportation.
Dual-Fuel Technology to Cut Emissions
