Intercargo held its Annual General Meeting in London on 15 October, electing Yannis Xylas as the new Chairman. Metaxia Psalti and Dimitris Monioudis were nominated as Vice Chairman and Technical Committee Chairman, respectively, as the team gears up to confront decarbonization and other major challenges in the industry while celebrating outgoing Chairman Dimitri Fafalios, reports Safety4Sea.
New Leadership Team
Joining Xylas in the leadership are:
- Metaxia Psalti, Chief Operating Officer at Neda Maritime Agency Co Ltd, was elected as the Vice Chairman of INTERCARGO.
- Dimitris Monioudis, Managing Director at Rethymnis & Kulukundis Ltd, was elected as the Technical Committee Chairman.
- Cesare D’Api, Group Technical Director at d’Amico Shipping Group, expressed pride in being elected as the Technical Committee Vice Chairman of INTERCARGO, effective January 2025.

End of Dimitri Fafalios’ six-year tenure, who enormously contributed to taking INTERCARGO’s mission forward. “ I would like to express my great appreciation to Mr. Dimitri Fafalios, who, after six years, will hand over the leadership of INTERCARGO, having constantly pushed this prestigious organization towards excellence”, stated Cesare D’Api in a LinkedIn post.
