ZIM’s Rate Increase From West Mediterranean Ports To US East Coast, Gulf, Canada, And Mexico

ZIM recently announced revised rates from West Mediterranean ports to various destinations in the United States, effective from 20th January 2024, reports Container News.

Updated Rates

The updated rates for 20′ and 40′ dry containers will be US$450 and US$950, respectively.

Market Shifts And Tariff Updates

In response to recent market shifts and network impact, an Israeli ocean carrier has declared rate adjustments for shipments from East Mediterranean and Black Sea ports (excluding Israel) to USEC, Gulf, Canada, and Mexico ports.

This adjustment, revealed in their Tariff update from 21st December 2023, will take effect from 20th January 2024. The new rate for dry cargo shipments from these regions to the aforementioned ports will be US$1,000 per TEU.
