Burning Freight Ship to be Brought Under Control

The freight ship that caught fire last week is still out of control and is currently adrift at Sea.

What happened?

The freight ship ‘MV Cheshire’ reportedly caught fire last week with 42,000 tonnes of fertilizer onboard.

The firefighters have been struggling to bring the fire under control and have decided to place a number of emergency technicians on the ship, in an effort to bring it back under control.

Toxic smoke issue raised:

There were initial fears regarding the smoke released from the fire being toxic but the owners have assured that the ship is drifting away from the Peninsula and it poses no risk to inhabitants on the Island.
