The product tanker Nordic Wolverine was refloated after being stuck for 10 days at Barranquilla , writes Mikhail Voytenko for Maritime Bulletin.
Tanker runs aground
Product tanker Nordic Wolverine ran aground at Barranquilla entrance, Columbia, at around 0700 UTC July 19. The tanker arrived from Cartagena, with 2-3 tugs assisting her in refloating attempts.
No damages were reported and the fairway was not blocked.
Aground tanker refloated
The aground tanker was finally, refloated at around 0000 UTC on July 30 by 4 tugs, and taken to anchorage at Cano Dulce area, west of Barranquilla, for underwater inspection.
Tanker’s hull contacted rocky bottom when aground, and reportedly, she is in need of repairs to be carried out at yard, but it’s not confirmed.
No cargo leak was reported.
