Maritime Smuggling Ring Busted by CCG

The Ukrainian News publishes, according to a CCG release, a marine smuggling gang operating in numerous locations including Hebei, Fujian, and Taiwan was busted by China Coast Guard (CCG) forces in east China’s Shandong Province, reports Ukrainian News.

Illegal Maritime Activities

“Eight of the case’s suspects were apprehended, and the ship, together with 40 cargo, was impounded,” it stated.

Electronic parts, used auto components, used batteries, and red wine was among the smuggled items.

“While patrolling the waters outside Weihai, Shandong, the local coast guard discovered a cargo ship that could not produce any freight, customs, or taxation documentation for the products on board, and was suspected of smuggling,” according to the CCG statement.

Further investigation into the case is underway.

The CCG has vowed to maintain a high-pressure crackdown on illegal maritime activities, and intensify patrols and inspections to safeguard maritime safety.
