According to VesselsValue data, Greek shipowners had made orders for 99 vessels worth $6.3 billion as of the end of October.
Greek shippers have also purchased 330 old vessels for $6.51 billion, according to Allied Shipbroking.
Dry bulkers are the most commonly used, followed by tankers, with tankers and containerships dominating new orders.
