Legendary blues guitarist and singer, B.B. King has died at the age of 89.
With his music break in 1948, B.B King lived a life full of tunes and did what he loved most until he breathed his last. His passion for music with 66 years of career behind him in which he played alongside artists such as Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Elton John to name a few. B.B. King fulfilled an amazing music career and his sound will live on forever.
B.B. King, earned the nickname “King of Blues” by his relentless seven decades of unique style of electric guitar play (called “Lucille”). King died peacefully in his sleep at 9:40 p.m. Thursday at his Las Vegas home.
“The blues has lost its king, and America has lost a legend,” President Obama said on Friday. B.B. King … became the ambassador who brought his all-American music to his country and the world. No one worked harder than B.B. No one inspired more up-and-coming artists. No one did more to spread the gospel of the blues.”
King, an inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, won 15 Grammy awards over his lifetime — more than any other blues musician.
