A successful “suicide boat” attack on at least one Russian Navy warship, possibly including an Admiral Grigorovich-class frigate, is thought to have been carried out by Ukrainian forces, according to an apparent video feed from the bow of a drone boat under fire taken at Sevastopol on October 29.

The incident has not been attributed to the Ukrainian military.
Since the invasion began in August, Russia has avoided striking merchant ships, however numerous tankers and bulk carriers were hit by Russian weapons in the early stages of the assault.

Hopes that these attacks would be a thing of the past were raised when the joint Turkish-Russian-Ukrainian grain project was signed in July, but Russia’s withdrawal from the accord has altered industry expectations for marine security along the route.

The suspension of the agreement, according to Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba, leaves 176 vessels and two million tonnes of grain stranded. He also noted that this is not the first time that Russia has interfered with the corridor.
