The country’s national security minister Shahidan Kassim said that About 100 Chinese-registered boats and vessels were detected encroaching into Malaysia’s waters near the Luconia Shoals in the South China Sea on Thursday.  Hence, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency has been deployed to monitor the area.

He said: “We have deployed three MMEA vessels to the area, while the Royal Malaysian Navy also has its assets there. Our Bombardier aircraft has also been sent to fly that area earlier today where they saw a group of fishermen from China conducting activities in our waters. They are quite large in number, and we expect our vessels to arrive at the location tonight,”

He also informed that legal action will be taken against vessels if they are found encroaching the Malaysian Waters.
