Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) has marked a significant milestone with the maiden voyages of its latest 24,188 TEU mega vessels, “OOCL Finland” and “OOCL Sweden.” These ships are part of a fleet of ten eco-friendly mega containerships, highlighting the company’s commitment to fleet modernization.
New Vessel Details
- OOCL Finland: Constructed by Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS).
- Named by Ms. TANG Li, CEO of KEECO Asia Group on April 25, 2024.
- Maiden arrival in Xiamen on May 10, 2024.
- OOCL Sweden: Built by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS).
- Named by Ms. CHEN Ying, Independent Director of Orient Overseas (International) Limited on April 23, 2024.
- Maiden arrived in Shanghai on June 2, 2024.
Service Route
The two vessels are deployed on OOCL’s Asia-Europe service LL1. The port rotation includes:
- Asia: Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Singapore
- Europe: Felixstowe, Zeebrugge, Gdansk, Wilhelmshaven
- The route also features transits via the Cape of Good Hope.
