Cyprus Maritime Academy (CyMA) and Mintra have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance maritime education and sustainability. This partnership aims to support maritime education, provide scholarships, and promote inclusivity within the industry.
Scholarship Initiative
Mintra is offering a full scholarship for a cadet in CyMA’s BSc in Nautical Science program. This year’s recipient, Darina Sotirova, aims to become a Captain and serve as a role model for future female cadets.
Commitment to Inclusivity
Mintra’s Channel Director, Emmanolia Kolias, emphasized the importance of mentoring and supporting future seafarers, particularly women, to foster a more inclusive maritime industry. This partnership demonstrates a commitment to breaking barriers and encouraging diversity.
Collaboration and Innovation
The MoU between CyMA and Mintra also includes collaboration on national and European projects, as well as the creation and delivery of maritime training courses. This initiative aims to address the growing shortage of qualified seafarers and promote innovation in maritime education and training.
