The collaboration aims to attract new shipping companies to establish routes between Jebel Ali Port in Dubai and Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in China. Existing shipping lines will be encouraged to cooperate through slot exchanges and vessel space purchases on the Dubai-Ningbo route, improving overall efficiency and connectivity.
Green Port Development
Both entities will work together to promote the development of environmentally friendly ports. This includes establishing an information-sharing mechanism, sharing expertise in building green terminals, utilizing shore power, and adopting clean fuels like LNG and green methanol for ships.
Logistics and Trade Expansion
The agreement explores potential investments in logistics opportunities within the Jebel Ali Free Zone and the Zhejiang Free Trade Zone. Additionally, it aims to leverage Dubai’s position as a regional transit hub and China’s strength as a car exporter to support RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) trade between the two ports.
