Wedding Aboard Boat Interrupted when Ship Runs Aground in Boston Harbor
The Majesty, a Boston Harbor Cruises vessel, reportedly ran aground off Georges Island in Boston Harbor thereby interrupting a wedding reception aboard the ship around 7 p.m. Saturday.
Fortunately none of the 152 people aboard, including 137 passengers were injured from the incident and they were safely transferred to the Asteria, another Boston Harbor Cruises vessel.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Andrew Barresi says five boats operated by the Coast Guard, state police, state environmental police and the Massachusetts Port Authority helped transfer the passengers.
It’s unclear why the ship grounded.
There’s no word on whether the couple tied the knot later on dry land.
