As Reported by bound4blue, the company is scaling up its global expansion efforts for its breakthrough eSAIL® technology with the appointment of Daniel Mann as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Mann, who brings decades of experience from organizations such as Rolls-Royce Marine, Siemens, and MAN Energy Solutions, is set to lead bound4blue’s growth in the rapidly evolving Wind Assisted Propulsion Systems (WAPS) sector.

Driving Innovation in Wind-Assisted Propulsion

Mann’s leadership will be instrumental in advancing the roll-out of the eSAIL®, a fully autonomous suction sail system. This cutting-edge technology optimizes aerodynamics to harness wind power, dramatically cutting fuel consumption and emissions for shipowners while ensuring compliance with stringent environmental standards.

Mann described his new role as an opportunity to drive maritime decarbonization and help bound4blue cement its status as the pioneer in suction sail technology, which he hailed as the preferred solution in the WAPS segment.

A Practical Path to Sustainability

The eSAIL® is designed for easy installation and minimal maintenance, making it a versatile option for retrofits and newbuilds across various vessel types, including tankers, bulk carriers, Ro-Ros, ferries, and gas carriers. Major players such as Maersk Tankers and Odfjell have already signed contracts to adopt the technology, signaling an industry-wide shift toward greener propulsion solutions.

Scaling for Growth

David Ferrer, CTO and co-founder of bound4blue, highlighted that the company is poised for significant growth, with its proven solution delivering both financial and environmental benefits. With Daniel Mann’s extensive industry knowledge, bound4blue aims to strengthen customer relationships, expand into new markets, and capitalize on the rising demand for wind-assisted propulsion technologies.

Shaping the Future of Shipping

Bound4blue’s eSAILs® are available in three model sizes, from 12m to 36m, with optional tilting systems for enhanced flexibility. As regulatory pressures and sustainability goals drive industry change, the company is well-positioned to lead the adoption of wind-assisted propulsion and set new benchmarks for maritime innovation.

By harnessing the inexhaustible energy of wind, bound4blue is charting a sustainable course for the shipping industry, helping operators worldwide achieve their most ambitious environmental and operational targets.
