On June 7, The German tug “Jörn” collided with an excursion vessel “Irma II” and critically injured six people, off Hamburg harbor.  Nearly 40 passengers, mostly elderly people, were on board at the time of the accident and 15 of them were injured, whereas six needed to be taken to the hospital, a police spokesman reportedly said.

The impact was severe enough to break the excursion vessel’s glass windows, fortunately nobody went overboard.

A group of tourists from Flensburg, pensioners of the local public utilities, reportedly went a Hamburg trip.

St. Pauli divers reportedly inspected the vessels for damages and leaks.  However, no major damage was discovered and the tourist vessel was towed to a shipyard later that day.  The Water Police set up a group to determine the cause of the accident.
