Whilst there were no injuries, this was a high potential incident and some of the issues and recommendations will be of interest to MFAME’s elite readers like you!
Though this incident did not happen onboard a ship, we feel that there are definite areas on board a ship where there is a potential for such incidents to happen. The main factor to consider here is that at a shore facility, assistance can be called for anytime. Whereas on board a ship, the crew are the only one who has to confront such emergencies.
