Cargo Loss in Antwerp

2265

On November 27, a cargo vessel reportedly suffered a cargo shift and lost its containers at Sea due to bad weather.

What happened?

The cargo vessel ‘Stanford’ was caught in stormy gusts of wind and subsequently suffered a cargo shift. During the course of events, the empty containers onboard the vessel toppled over and fell into the Sea.

The container stacks broke down, and some boxes went overboard and started drifting towards the basin. The vessel was berthed in the Leopold dock in Antwerp until it proceeded towards its destination when it got caught in the storm.
