Ship Detained After Injury of Crew Member

On March 9, a ship has been detained by the Oristano port captain after a crew member was injured onboard the vessel.

What happened?

The vessel ‘TK Rotterdam’ carrying grains was taken into custody by the port captain of Oristano shortly after its arrival from Caen.

Crew member injured

The vessel was detained and brought under control after a crew member was injured onboard the ship. Upon further inspection many irregularities were detected onboard the vessel.

Shortcomings detected

The crucial shortcomings identified were irregularities in the rescue system and non-compliant fire fighting devices.

The ship will be detained at the port until the irregularities are addressed by the vessel owner.
