[Watch] Seal Hitchhikes on a Vessel’s Rudder

1982

A massive cargo ship was in for a surprise after a seal hitchhiked on the vessel’s rudder.

What happened?

A video posted online showed a seal hitching a ride on the back of a massive cargo ship.

The bubbly intruder’s antics were busted after it was discovered stowed away on the rudder of the giant vessel.

Discovered by marine pilot

The intruder was discovered when a marine pilot was about to board a boat. He spotted a seal sitting on the rudder of a ship.

It was taking refuge on the rudder under the shade

Laid back seal

The seal was seen slouching lazily to one side, gazing pensively out to sea as the ship powers full steam ahead across the open ocean.

The footage was captured off the coast of Wollongong, in central New South Wales, where fur seals and industrial vessels such as this one are both in high supply.
