About 3,000 migrants – mainly from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Afghanistan- who are camping in Calais want to reach Britain. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve held talks with the UK Home Secretary in London on Tuesday to sort out the migrant issue. As the migrant issue affects both the countries they have to co-operate and collaborate closely.
Unfortunately, the migrant issue is not only human misery issue but also an issue of terrible criminal gangs and the people smugglers who want to profit out of the issue.
Eight migrants had died when they attempted to enter Britain illegally through the Channel Tunnel.
A suspected migrant had died in his attempt to cross over through Channel Tunnel by riding on top of the train. When his body was found on the roof of a Eurotunnel train at the terminal in Folkestone, southern England, there were inevitable delays to services for which Eurotunnel is claiming compensation from both French and English governments for the disruption caused by the migrants.
