A Greek ship owner has topped in terms of value and tonnage of the fleet owned by an individual. Mr. John Angelicoussis has bagged the top position by owning a fleet worth $7.6 billion.
Greece sustains top position
Greece remained the world’s largest shipowning nation by value with the fleet worth $99.82 billion, followed by China with a fleet valued at $91.7 billion, and Japan at $89.27 billion.
The second largest Greek owner by fleet value was George Economou at $7.17 billion, followed by George Procopiou bagging the third place with a fleet worth $5.36 billion.
