- Port of Antwerp-Bruges’ total conventional bunker sales have risen amid higher HSFO and VLSFO sales in the first quarter of 2024.
- VLSFO sales increased by 15% quarter-on-quarter but dropped 5% from the year ago period.
- HSFO sales were 7% higher in Q1 2024. The product’s sales also increased by 16% from the same period last year.
Consolidated fuel oil bunker sales in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges increased by 10% in the first quarter of 2024. However, fuel oil sales were 1% lower than the corresponding period last year, reports Engine.
VLSFO sales increased by 15% quarter-on-quarter but dropped 5% from the year ago period. HSFO sales were 7% higher in Q1 2024. The product’s sales also increased by 16% from the same period last year.
Consolidated marine gasoil sales in Antwerp-Bruges soared by 41% in the first quarter of 2024. However, compared to the same quarter in 2023, gasoil sales were 29% higher. The port’s gasoil sales were at their highest level since the fourth quarter of 2019 when sales were 427,000 mt.
Antwerp-Bruges’ total conventional bunker sales in Q1 2024 were about 5% higher compared to the first quarter of 2023.
The Port of Antwerp-Bruges did not split its sales figures into conventional and bio-blended bunker fuels. They are both combined into its overall sales figure.
Changes in Antwerp-Bruges bunker fuel sales from Q4 2023 to Q1 2024:
- Total sales up by 258,600 mt to 1.9 million mt
- Fuel oil sales up by 136,000 mt to 1.5 million mt
- Gasoil sales up by 122,000 mt to 417,000 mt
