A Malaysian flagged yacht got adrift at sea for five days after an engine failure.  The vessel suffered rips and cracks and it managed to keep its crew safe on board until a cargo ship reached out for help.

The crew of four were located a few miles at sea near Phuket.  They were taken aboard by the cargo ship and were given food and water.

The Royal Thai Navy was contacted about the situation and a rescue team was sent out immediately for help.  The rescued crew members were sent to the Vachira Phuket hospital for further help with their situation.
