Cargo Vessel Collides with Tourist Ship

On December 24, 36 tourists including crew members faced a scare when their tourist ship reportedly collided with a cargo vessel in Vietnam.

What happened?

The tourist vessel with 31 Chinese tourists, including four crewmembers and a guide faced a minor scare when their tourist ship reportedly collided with a cargo vessel, near Ti Top Island in Ha Long Bay, located in northern Vietnam.

The incident occurred when the tourist ship was on its way to port after touring the bay, when it collided with an oncoming cargo vessel, en route from Hai Phong city to Hon Net seaport in Quang Ninh province.

Passengers rescued:

The tourist ship was allegedly damaged during the collision and all the 37 people onboard the vessel were brought safely to the shore.

The port officials have initiated an investigation to determine the sequence of events leading to the accident. Fortunately, no one was injured during the accident and no pollution to the environment was reported.
