1985 built 2,859 DWT cargo vessel was adrift by strong current. The accident occurred in the evening when the ship rowed near the passage of the German canal. The ship hit a mud shallow and stuck but later succeeded to refloat by its own power.
Reports state that there has been no damage to the hull, no injuries to seamen and no signs of water pollution.
The general cargo vessel is operating under the flag of Vanuatu, mostly inland Germany between Brake and Bremerhaven. Germanischer Lloyd certified the ship.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
