What happened?
Chinese sand carrier HONGXIANG with 9 crew on board capsized and sank at night Jul 26. This happened some 60 nm SW of Penghu island, Taiwan, Taiwan Strait.
Rescue operations
Taiwanese and Chinese SAR responded immediately. Taiwanese SAR boats rescued 1 crew and recovered 4 bodies, 4 crew remain missing.
