China’s export container shipping index surged in the week concluding, based on the Shanghai Shipping Exchange’s data, reports English News.

Routes Of The Service

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) saw a slight 0.1 percent climb, reaching 858.40 compared to the preceding week.
Among the specific routes, the Japan service experienced the most significant increase, rising by 2.2 percent, while the West East Africa service observed a notable decrease of 4.8 percent from the previous week.

International Carriers

The CCFI monitors both spot and contractual freight rates at Chinese container ports across 12 global shipping routes, drawing data from 22 international carriers.

It’s important to note that the index began at a value of 1,000 on Jan. 1, 1998, serving as a benchmark for assessing fluctuations in container shipping rates.
