Chinese State Shipbuilding Corporation Bags Major LNG Contract!

According to an article published in Seatrade-Maritime News, CSSC Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding announced it has inked a contract with Petronas for the construction of two LNG carriers.

Designed for coastal areas

The two 79,900 cu m LNG carriers, in 239 meters length, 36.6 meters width, are designed to be able to sail in coastal areas in Southeast Asia and the river areas in Pearl River, Yangtze River and Huangpu River, which will be used for LNG projects in Malaysia when delivered.

Unique river-sea transportation

It is the first type of river-sea combined transportation LNG carrier we are going to build, a breakthrough for Hudong-Zhonghua to expand the LNG industry chain, said the shipyard.

The oil and gas supplier and ship leasing party are Petronas, Malaysia’s national oil and gas resources.
