Celebrating Seafarers’ Commitment and Sacrifice
The annual ‘Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’ organized by The Mission to Seafarers (MtS) in London highlighted the vital role played by seafarers and their families. With Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal in attendance, the event, sponsored by Shell, Rightship, and Ardmore Shipping, emphasized the dedication of seafarers, especially during the holiday season when many are away from home.
Recognition of MtS Teams and Support Network
The service and reception acknowledged the outstanding work of MtS teams, including port chaplains, ship visitors, seafarer centre staff, and volunteers. The Lloyd’s Choir set the festive tone, and speeches at Trinity House expressed gratitude for the meaningful contributions made by MtS teams, with special emphasis on the role of supporting donors and sponsors.
Africa Focus and Future Plans
This year’s spotlight on Africa highlighted seafarers’ needs in the region. HRH The Princess Royal discussed the power of personal interactions at MtS’ centres, emphasizing plans for global growth, particularly in the Americas.
