Condition monitoring always has a cutting-edge over different engine designs and models. It is well known fact that there are ships in which the engines need occasional remote monitoring and thus needs minimal intervention.
The Engine Makers have improvised the maintenance schedules and most of the modern ships require maintenance only during dry docks. Class NK and Makita have agreed to bring the condition-based engine monitoring system to Mitsui-Makita MAN BW main engines.
