A stack fall aboard CMA CGM’s container ship is said to have cost the company 55 containers earlier this month in the Indian Ocean as reported by Assafina Online.
Catastrophe
On July 3, the catastrophe occurred as the ship was entering the Gulf of Aden on its way from Singapore to Southampton via Suez.
On July 6, the ultra-large container ship was compelled to head back to Djibouti’s coast.
The 13,892 TEU Singapore-flagged ship is still in port in Djibouti and has not yet made a departure announcement.
CMA CGM was contacted by Container News for a response to the incident, but as of this writing, the French company has not done so.
