A cruise ship ran aground off Isla de Coiba, Panama during anchoring maneuvers. The reports state that all the passengers and crew are safe. The passengers disembarked to the island for their planned shoreside itinerary. After the passengers had left, the ship’s technicians found that the vessel was no longer fit to sail as there were damages in its hull.
The passengers were transferred to two other ships which were available in the vicinity and was en route to Golfito, Costa Rica. They will be moved to San Jose from where they can choose to stay for the duration of their vacation, or fly home.
The ship will be taken to the Port of Balboa where the repair works will be carried out. The passengers will receive a 100 percent refund and 100 percent of the cruise fare paid for future cruise credit.
