Danish Authorities Arrest Drunk Master

The Master of the bulk cargo ship M/V Tonic Sea was arrested for the charges of drunken steering.  The ship is anchored at off Hirtshals, Denmark.  The vessel and the crew await for the new master.

News In Brief:

  • The 44-year-old Pole was arrested for drunken steering.
  • An alcohol reading of 1.34 was found when he was given a breathalyzer.
  • He will face legal action and fines along with a five-year suspension of his maritime license.

The 93,000 dwt ship was transporting cargo and was en route from Hamburg to Ust-Luga, Russia.
