Deployment of New Bunker Vessel At Kochi Port

The deployment of new 1,500-tonne capacity bunkering vessel, Sanghrajka-4, at Kochi port, has taken the count of bunkering vessels to six.

Geostan Marine Pvt. Ltd., an Indian bunker player has chartered a new 1,500-tonne capacity bunkering vessel, Sanghrajka-4, at Kochi port as per local media reports.

Highlights:

  • The new barge has a maximum carrying capacity of 1,400 tonnes of residual and 200 tonnes of distillate product.
  • The barge can supply oil to transiting ships in the outer roads even during monsoon.
  • The barge could be used for the bunkering round-the-clock throughout the year.
  • With the new addition 2014 build vessel, the total count of bunkering vessels at the port reaches six.

A.K.Balyan, Managing Director and CEO, Petronet LNG Ltd commented that Kochi can be considered as a Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering hub not only for India but also for Southeast Asia.
